Water has always amazed ever time. I. clearly remember the first time I saw the Bay of Bengal sea. From far it looked like big blue mountain. May be the metaphor is not very apt but I felt that way.

My grandmother told stories of my mom swam like fish in near by water wells. My father is also good swimmer. But I didn’t get a chance to swim till my twenties. I got embarassed when I visited water bodies because of inability to swim.

I was at a Mysore training center about five months for Infosys company at the start of my career. This is amazing place with lot of facilities. Here I have got a chance to learn swimming. I started going to pool everyday and I am a slow learner and it took me 3 months to master swimming. Swimming might be fun for many people, I didn’t feel that way. I feel more like a meditation. A place to escape after the daily rigor.

After that I used to swim when ever I get chance. When I see a river, lake or a pond I just feel taking of my clothers and going to water. I can swim for an hour. I swim very slowly which preserves my energies.

After switching to other companies from Infosys I felt my swimming days are over. Because not many companies provide the kind of facility the infosys provides. I swam very occasionally after it when I ever visited summer outings with my collegues.

But this year 2020 brought lot of rains and I am in my village because of lockdown. The Atmakur lake got filled with water. I saw the Atmakur lake many times but never got the idea to swim in that. Its kind of dirty. But when I saw a group of people in their forties swimming I just want to swimming. I am going to swimming for three days continously now. Hope I will continue the streak and my love for swimming continuous.

If you truly love something and even though the current situations are not permitting to pursue that cause, you will get chances in life . All the imaginary chains that hold yourself back will get broken and you will go for that cause. You don’t need planning, practice or preparation, the love would make overcome all the hurdles.
